Tommy Byrne, Johny Podres RIP
Within weeks of each other, both starting pitchers of game seven in the 1955 World Series have past away. What I remember most about the conclusion of that game was that it marked the exact moment when my then beloved New York Giants were no longer World Champions. I vividly remember thinking that it may be a while before they return to glory. It has been.

Both Johnny and my father Pat Salerno were drafted together by Alex Issabell of the Dodgers. Both Johnny and him lived in the same area and played ball against each other. Johnny was a tremendous person and loved the game but also the fans, he will be truly missed by the people of Witherbee, Moriah, Mineville and Port Henry.
