    Regarding the Pilgrims from the Mayflower and Plymouth Rock, it was the late great Malcolm X who once observed, regarding the continuing unacceptably sad state of race relations in this country,

    “We didn’t land on Plymouth Rock…. Plymouth Rock landed on us.”
