Jack Degraw and Robert Deinager discussed the Yankees ‘re-signing of Manager Aaron Boone, while the rest of his coaching staff received their walking papers. For Yankee fans who hoped the organization would dial back the analytics, it appears that the Yankees plan on doubling down on it. We also discuss the future of Catcher Gary Sanchez, as well as Gleyber Torres, Gio Ushella, and Luke Voit if Anthony Rizzo is resigned. Because Cashman said they would address their SS issue, which means Gleyber Torres would go back to 2B, but the Yankees gave DJ LeMahieu a 6-year, $90 Million deal and would be there 2B unless they move him to 3B and put Torres at 2B, which means Gio Ushella would be a player without a position to play?! Also going around the rumor mill, if the Yankees can’t resign Anthony Rizzo (he did turn down a 5-year, $70 Million deal from the Cubs), they might look into trading for 1B Matt Olson (left-handed hitter) of the Athletics. Brian Cashman said that Center Field is an area he’d like to upgrade too, but Aaron Hicks still has about 4-years left on a 7-year, $140 Million deal. But Hicks’ contract is movable. This off-season will be interesting… what happens to Miguel Andujar, Clint Frazier, Gary Sanchez, Gleyber Torres, Gio Ushella, and Aaron Hicks (to name a few)? Who will be the new bench coaches (heavily involved in analytics for starters)? Do we sign another SP or two? Do we trade Aroldis Chapman? Do we move Luis Severino to the bullpen?
