The Yankees in The Zone 9/27/22

September 27, 2022 at 5:02 pm (Comfortably Zoned Radio)

Jack Degraw and Robert Deininger talk about the Yankees being a win away from clinching the AL East, and with the Astros winning the AL West and Cleveland clinching the AL Central, the American League playoff picture is becoming clearer.
We also talk about the historic season Aaron Judge is having. No only is he 1 HR away from tying baseball and Yankees legend, Roger Maris,’ record of 61 HR’s (AL & Yankees record) hit in 1961, but Judge is only 2 away from passing him with 9gms left.
We also talk about the Yankees pitching staff, and what the starting rotation might look like come playoff time; who’s the odd man out? Is it Frankie Montas or Domingo Germán? Will a Closer by Committee work in the Postseason?
We also touch on Miguel Andujar being DFA’d by the Yankees and being claimed by the Pittsburgh Pirates. Robert Deininger thinks this is the best thing that could’ve happened to Andujar who is still in his prime and could end up showing the Yankees the mistake they made by giving up on him.
They talk about all this and much much more!!!
